IVECO BUS's iconic CROSSWAY range is now 100% electric
With the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC and the CROSSWAY ELEC, IVECO BUS confirms its expertise in electric solutions tailored to every mission – urban, suburban, interurban or school. Now available in a 100% electric version, these two models combine the qualities that have defined the success of the CROSSWAY range since its launch with the advantages of IVECO BUS's electromobility solutions:
- Modularity and flexibility in energy storage to perfectly match mission needs.
- High-energy batteries identical to those used in the manufacturer's other electric models.
- Energy Mobility Solutions support for the definition of projects.
- IVECO ON digital management tools.
Brussels, 3 October 2025
As a pioneer in alternative traction buses and strongly committed to the deployment of zero-emission mobility in Europe, IVECO BUS has expanded its extensive CROSSWAY range, which already has more than 65,000 units sold, with the addition of two 100% electric models: the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC and the CROSSWAY ELEC.
Staying true to their DNA, the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC and the CROSSWAY ELEC share the same strengths in handling, driving flexibility, the driver's area ergonomics and safety. Both versions are equipped with NMC FPT Industrial batteries and a 290 kW SIEMENS Elfa III electric motor developing 3000 Nm of torque.
CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC: for emission-free suburban mobility
Launched in 2023 at Busworld Europe, the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC is the ideal 100% electric intercity for suburban missions requiring a balance between seated and standing passengers. With its zero-emissions performance and Low Entry design, it can access city centres, freeing transport operators from the constraints of environmental regulations and positioning itself as a perfect complement to the range for decarbonising transport. Its key strenghts:
- Available in Class I and Class II, and in two lengths of 12 and 13 meters.
- Maximum modularity in battery pack configuration with 5, 6 or 7 batteries providing respectively 346, 416 and 485 kWh for the Class I version, and 416 and 485 kWh for the Class II version.
- Up to 44 seats for the 12 m version and 48 seats for the 13 m version.
- Several charging modes: at the depot using an individual COMBO CCS2 socket or by ascending or descending pantograph.
- High performance with a range of around 400 km – sufficient to fully ensure missions beyond the city centre without generating local emissions.
With its low floor at the front and first two doors, the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC guarantees total accessibility for passengers boarding and exiting the vehicle, thanks to double doors (1,200 mm) at the front and centre. It can also be equipped with an electric or manual ramp, with a dedicated interior space for passengers with reduced mobility.
CROSSWAY ELEC: for carbon-free school and intercity transport
Presented for the first time at an international trade fair, the CROSSWAY ELEC is a unique intercity vehicle, designed to perfectly meet the needs of mobility decarbonization in school and intercity missions.
Available in 12 and 13 metre versions (classes II and III), the CROSSWAY ELEC can be recharged at the depot via individual CCS Combo 2 socket. Its high flexibility in energy storage, ranging from 3 to 6 battery packs offers:
- Preserved passenger space and baggage compartment volume. The CROSSWAY ELEC can accommodate up to 57 people in the 12-metre version and up to 63 passengers in the 13-metre version, including 5 rear seats. With 4 batteries it offers up to 6.2 m³ (13 m model) and 5.1 m³ (12 m model) of cargo volume, plus 3 m³ (13 m) and 2.8 m³ (12 m) of interior storage.
- Perfect adaptability to the customers’ specific needs in terms of missions and daily distances covered between charges. The 3- or 4-pack configurations, with 2 batteries on the roof and 1 or 2 in the rear compartment – without impacting luggage space – are ideally suited for school missions, which rarely require more than 200 km per day. For greater autonomy, the 5- or 6-pack versions place additional batteries in the luggage compartments, slightly reducing available height in this configuration. Equipped with 6 packs, the CROSSWAY ELEC offers a total energy storage capacity of 415 kWh for a range of 450 to 500 km.
The CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC and CROSSWAY ELEC already offer transport operators an effective solution, well ahead of the 2030 regulatory deadline for CO2 emission reduction. Their supply is supported by a global ecosystem for high-performance electric mobility, including a complete set of tailor-made services ranging from consulting on the deployment of electric fleets (Energy Mobility Solutions) to digital management tools (IVECO ON).
Like the other models in the CROSSWAY range, the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC and CROSSWAY ELEC are produced at the Vysoke Myto plant in the Czech Republic.
At Busworld 2025, IVECO BUS is presenting 2 x 13-metre-long CROSSWAY models in Class II. The CROSSWAY ELEC in Line version is equipped with 5 battery packs (346 kWh) and has 59 seats, while the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC has 6 battery packs (416 kWh) and features 48 seats as well as a UFR area.
