The Dr. Richard Group has taken delivery of 36 new IVECO BUS CROSSWAY Low Entry buses, which will operate on routes in Burgenland. Designed to meet the requirements of regional transport, these vehicles will strengthen public transport by providing a reliable, comfortable and future-oriented local mobility offer.

The buses were officially inaugurated during a ceremony at the company’s Oberwart site, attended by representatives from government, business, the media, partners and employees, who were able to discover this new generation of vehicles ahead of their entry into service.

The CROSSWAY Low Entry – Europe’s benchmark intercity model for regional transport

With this investment in 36 new CROSSWAY Low Entry vehicles, the Dr. Richard Group has chosen one of Europe’s leading intercity bus models, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The CROSSWAY model has been specifically designed to meet the requirements of regional mobility, combining controlled operating costs, passenger comfort and high operational versatility.

Comfort and accessibility at the heart of the project

Each of the 36 new CROSSWAY Low Entry vehicles offers up to 46 seats, 25 standing places and one wheelchair space. Their Low Entry configuration facilitates boarding through the front section of the vehicle, with simpler and faster passenger flows, particularly for people with reduced mobility, seniors and passengers with pushchairs. Combining enhanced accessibility with the qualities of an intercity vehicle, the CROSSWAY Low Entry meets the needs of both high-traffic regional routes and longer intercity journeys.

Spacious access areas, passenger information systems and a welcoming, functional interior layout all contribute to delivering an attractive everyday travel experience on regular routes.

Reliable technology for optimised operations

Longevity, reliability and control of operating costs are also central to the CROSSWAY Low Entry model. Designed for regional operation, these buses feature safety and driver assistance systems that support drivers in their daily work while enhancing the protection of passengers and other road users. Powered by a 265 kW (360 hp) engine, they provide a robust and efficient solution for daily regional operations.

With this new fleet, the Dr. Richard Group confirms its long-term investment strategy in efficient and attractive regional mobility, further enhancing the quality of public transport in Burgenland.
