At FIAA in Madrid, IVECO BUS is unveiling the eFLEXY Line version at its European premiere, the interurban and shuttle version of its new electric compact minibus range. With eFLEXY Line and eFLEXY City, IVECO BUS is entering the M2 segment with fully electric vehicles of 6 metres, broadening its electric offer from compact passenger transport to 18-metre articulated city buses and 12- and 13-metre interurban models. The launch strengthens the manufacturer’s position as an electromobility partner for operators looking to decarbonise daily services while maintaining operational flexibility.

The range comprises two complementary versions: eFLEXY City, a class A vehicle for urban operations, and eFLEXY Line, a Class B vehicle for line, shuttle and interurban services. Together, they offer operators, public transport authorities and private transport companies flexible, zero-emission  solutions for a wide range of short-range services, combining accessibility, passenger comfort and range.

eFLEXY Line: up to 13 passengers for shuttle, local line and interurban services

Designed for everyday journeys, interurban services, local connections and shuttle operations,

eFLEXY Line can carry up to 13 passengers in addition to the driver. Its continuous flat floor facilitates access to the seats, while the retractable rear hydraulic lift, stowed beneath the floor, enables wheelchair access. On board, the flexible seating layouts, individual touring seats and 3 m² of luggage rack combine practicality and passenger comfort. Large side windows and a glazed tailgate bring natural light into the passenger compartment, craeating a bright and welcoming interior for a comfortable travel experience.

eFLEXY City: up to 17 passengers for urban and restricted access operations

Designed for city centres, restricted-access areas and urban services, eFLEXY City can carry up to

17 passengers, including seated, standing and wheelchair users depending on the configuration. Its 1,200 mm side door and retractable rear hydraulic lift make boarding easier and support passenger flow.  The interior layout maximises usable space, helping to reduce dwell times and make better use of the available space for passengers and wheelchair users, providing a comfortable environment on urban routes.

Lightweight construction and fast charging for efficient daily operations

Drawing on IVECO BUS’s electric vehicle expertise, eFLEXY Line and eFLEXY City minibuses combine agility, range and charging performance to meet the requirements of local zero-emission operations. Their design focuses on weight optimisation using aluminium panels and ABS trim, helping preserve range without compromising robustness or build quality.

Equipped with a 205-kW electric motor, eFLEXY Line and eFLEXY City minibuses deliver performance suited to a wide variety of passenger transport missions. Their high-density 110 kWh battery — among the best-performing in its class — provides a range of more than 300 km. Both models can be charged in alternating current (AC) at up to 22 kW or in direct current (DC) at up to 150 kW. With fast charging, the vehicles can recover up to 80% of their capacity in under one hour, making service organisation easier and helping optimise operating schedules.

Route-specific energy management

To optimise energy efficiency in operation, eFLEXY Line and eFLEXY City vehicles offer three driving modes and four levels of regenerative braking. Operators can adapt vehicle behaviour to traffic conditions, route profiles and service constraints. This flexible energy management helps maximise range across urban routes with frequent stops, suburban links, interurban services and demand-responsive transport operations.

Simplified driving and enhanced safety

Designed for easy handling, eFLEXY Line and eFLEXY City vehicles offer a driving experience close to that of a passenger car. The driver benefits from a spacious, intuitive and comfortable workplace, with infotainment, touch interfaces, smartphone integration and navigation solutions. Level 2+ driver assistance systems (ADAS) and compliance with the latest European GSR requirements enhance safety for passengers, drivers and other road users, while supporting operators in meeting increasingly demanding safety and uptime expectations.

A unique service ecosystem to support eFLEXY Line and eFLEXY City operations

Beyond the vehicles themselves, IVECO BUS stands out for its comprehensive approach to electromobility. With eFLEXY Line and eFLEXY City, the brand combines the strength of its network with a complete ecosystem of connected services, shared with its eDAILY models. Unique in this segment, this integrated offer provides operators with end-to-end support to simplify day-to-day fleet management, optimise vehicle availability, secure their operations and facilitate their transition to zero-emission mobility.

·       Included as standard for three years, the eStart pack gives operators access, via the IVECO ON portal, to the key information needed to manage vehicles efficiently, including state of charge, remaining range, battery status, charging progress and operational performance.

·       Features such as eRemote, eRange Assurance and Uptime Monitoring & Management enable operators to schedule charging, precondition the passenger compartment, receive proactive alerts and anticipate maintenance operations to help preserve vehicle availability.

·       Available as options, the Premium Add-ons further enhance this offer with advanced services dedicated to charging and fleet analysis. These include facilitated access to more than 350,000 public charging points through eCharge Solution, as well as detailed reports to help monitor usage, optimise costs and improve planning.

·       The driver app completes this ecosystem by providing drivers with key information — including vehicle status, remaining range and charging planning — through a simple, intuitive interface. It contributes to a more confident driving experience and better day-to-day operational control.

First deliveries planned for Q1 2027

First deliveries of the eFLEXY Line and eFLEXY City models are scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
