Abidjan, 30 March 2026

IVECO BUS is a full-liner manufacturer with a global footprint. As part of its commercial strategy, it has expanded its presence beyond Europe, particularly in Africa, by offering a complete range of vehicles and services, including zero-emission solutions.

The IVECO BUS range fully reflects the brand’s ability to deliver efficient, reliable and sustainable mobility solutions for all types of missions, tailored to the specific needs of passenger transport in Africa. This offer is supported by an extensive network, dedicated services and skills transfer initiatives designed to enable fully autonomous operations.

IVECO BUS, a continuously expanding presence in Africa

A recognised expert in collective transport, IVECO BUS contributes to the transformation of mobility in Africa through successful partnerships and collaborations, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that address the continent’s current and future challenges.

For nearly forty years, IVECO BUS has worked closely with the Abidjan Transport Company (SOTRA). This long-standing collaboration reached a new milestone with the establishment of a Daily minibus assembly line, which began production in January 2022 in Koumassi, near Abidjan. This initiative made Côte d’Ivoire the first African country to host a minibus assembly plant, marking a significant step in the country’s industrial development.

In 2025, IVECO BUS further strengthened its presence in Côte d’Ivoire with the delivery of 300 CROSSWAY LE buses and 50 EVADYS coaches to SOTRA, bringing the total number of IVECO BUS vehicles in operation to more than 1,450 units. This includes 100 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicles running on natural gas, known as “l’Émergent” on the streets of Abidjan.

In addition, IVECO BUS also contributed to improving mobility in Senegal by reinforcing the DAKAR DEM DIKK fleet with the delivery of 370 CROSSWAY buses in 2024. The brand also offers knowledge transfer programmes to support independent fleet management and skills development among local teams.

IVECO BUS, a reference partner to meet the requirements of the African continent

As the European leader in alternative energy solutions, IVECO BUS offers competitive, safe and sustainable mobility solutions to African markets. The brand’s strengths include a multi-energy offer – from biofuels and natural gas to electromobility – and a wide product portfolio.

Versatile and robust vehicles, leaders in their respective segments – such as the CROSSWAY, with more than 950 units already in operation in Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal, and the DAILY minibus – are designed to meet urban, suburban, school and shuttle missions across all energy types.

IVECO BUS also offers urban ranges perfectly adapted to local energy transition contexts, available with all energy solutions. In addition, high-level service models such as E-WAY LINIUM and CREALIS CNG provide competitive and tailored mobility solutions.

CROSSWAY – European market leader. A proven benchmark

The undisputed leader in its category, with record production exceeding 70,000 units across its various versions, CROSSWAY is recognised for its performance, reliability, versatility, comfort and optimised operating costs. Designed to adapt to the most diverse climatic conditions, CROSSWAY is highly valued by transport operators worldwide.

Ideal for intercity services, excursions and school transport, the CROSSWAY range demonstrates its versatility through a wide choice of lengths, versions and alternative energy options, effectively meeting the requirements of short-distance scheduled services, staff transport and school transport.

CROSSWAY models are equipped with the IVECO CURSOR Euro III engine, known for its reliability and performance. They feature cataphoresis protection, a three-piece front bumper, wheelchair access ramps and air-suspended driver seats.

DAILY – IVECO BUS expertise extended to minibuses

The DAILY minibus is designed to meet all the needs of passenger transport operators, offering outstanding flexibility across missions such as excursions, shuttles, intercity and school transport. It combines on-board comfort and safety with an optimised total cost of ownership, making it a benchmark in its category. DAILY is powered by a 146 hp Euro III engine and can accommodate up to 17 passengers.

EVADYS – already in operation in Côte d’Ivoire

EVADYS perfectly meets the needs of occasional and regional tourism, as well as short- and medium-distance excursions. It complements the high-end segment of mixed intercity and excursion coaches, which require higher levels of power, comfort and luggage capacity. EVADYS shares many components with the CROSSWAY range, including the driver’s workstation. Powered by a Cursor Euro III engine, the 12-metre-long EVADYS can accommodate 51 passengers.

CREALIS – IVECO BUS High Level of Service offer for structuring urban mobility projects

A true intermediate solution between bus and tramway, the CREALIS BRT system provides an effective and rapidly deployable response to mobility challenges in all urban contexts. Built on existing transport infrastructure, its implementation requires fewer works and investments than a tram line and its dedicated depot. In Abidjan, nearly 100 CREALIS CNG 18-metre BRT buses are already in operation with SOTRA under the name “l’Émergent”.

Available in 12- or 18-metre versions, CREALIS offers a wide range of alternative powertrains, from natural gas (compatible with biomethane) to HVO, XTL and hybrid solutions. Highly versatile, it integrates seamlessly both in city centres and suburban areas. Its distinctive design, dynamic lines and premium finishes make it a strong image vector for territories, while its tram-inspired front, wheel covers and large glazed surfaces enhance passenger experience and visual identity.

E-WAY – electric buses designed for the most demanding missions

The IVECO BUS E-WAY battery-electric range includes models available in four lengths (9.5 m, 10.7 m, 12 m and 18 m) and three charging modes: depot charging – now also available on articulated versions – and opportunity charging via inverted pantograph on 12-metre models. They offer the best balance between passenger capacity and on-board energy.

The 12- and 18-metre E-WAY models are also available as a Bus Rapid Transit system (BRT) under the name LINIUM.

The entire IVECO BUS electromobility offer is based on 69 kWh NMC batteries, delivering unmatched energy density and charging capacity, perfectly suited to bus applications. This modular and flexible energy storage system allows multiple battery configurations between roof and rear, maximising passenger capacity according to the required range and charging strategy.

For IVECO BUS, service is as important as the vehicle

Vehicle supply is supported by a comprehensive service ecosystem, including vehicle assistance and technical support, technical training and the availability of genuine spare parts for up to 15 years after vehicle production, ensuring efficiency and long-term performance.

The brand also offers knowledge and expertise transfer in various forms, including industrial localisation, to facilitate independent operations and skills development among local teams. Tailored support measures – such as spare parts packages, tooling and technical documentation – can beintegrated into customer contracts.
