IVECO BUS wins the Busplaner “International Sustainability Award 2026” for the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC
Vénissieux, 15 April 2026
After recognising the CROSSWAY and CROSSWAY Low Entry Natural Power models in 2021, followed by the E-WAY H2 in 2024, the specialist magazine Busplaner has now awarded the “International Sustainability Award 2026” to the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC. Granted every two years since 2013, this award honours companies that successfully combine economic performance, social responsibility and environmental protection.
The award was presented at a ceremony held on 14 April in Berlin, ahead of the Bus2Bus exhibition, to Yves Nax, Business Director IVECO BUS – IVECO Deutschland AG.
CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC: a zero-emission solution supporting the decarbonisation of suburban mobility
Available in 12- and 13-metre versions, in both urban (Class I) and interurban (Class II) configurations, the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC combines accessibility, passenger capacity and performance. Its low-entry front layout facilitates passenger flow and perfectly meets the requirements of suburban routes, where a balance between seated and standing passengers is essential. Equipped with a 230 kW central electric motor powered by high-energy-density NMC lithium batteries with a capacity of up to 485 kWh, the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC offers a range of around 400 km.
Quiet and emission-free, the vehicle makes a significant contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, air pollutants and noise, enhancing quality of life for both passengers and residents.
The CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC is on display at the 300 m2 IVECO BUS stand (No. 260, Hall 27), at the Bus2Bus trade fair.
Full support for cities and operators on their electrification journey
Beyond vehicle supply, IVECO BUS positions itself as a full solutions integrator, supporting local authorities and public transport operators throughout their electrification journey. The
CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC fully embodies this approach and benefits from the
Energy Mobility Solutions global offering, dedicated expertise focused on the co-design of tailor-made, reliable electromobility projects, aligned with operators’ operational, economic and sustainability requirements.
This offering is complemented by IVECO ON connected services, an advanced telematics solution available on every vehicle, enabling real-time monitoring, operational optimisation and continuous improvement of fleet efficiency.
“We are particularly proud to receive this new award, which recognises our expertise in electromobility through the CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC,” said Giorgio Zino, Head of IVECO BUS Commercial Operations in Europe. “Thanks to a complete ecosystem of 100% electric mobility solutions and dedicated services, IVECO BUS supports public transport stakeholders in the concrete and sustainable implementation of their energy transition.”
